The written word is a power thing. Imagine a world where you could not see!! Imagine a world where
you could not read. The written word really is a very powerful tool, it inspires, connects and empowers us. In this modern era of social media, texting twittering, facebooking etc, the written word is in constant use to be in touch with friends, family and even those we do not know. It truly is "a powerful tool". Take a look at this youtube clip below. Words may be cheap, but use them wisely and with heart.
This brought tears to my eyes!
Please watch it. It’s not a joke, it’s not religious, it’s not political.
It’s just special ... And has a message for all of us.
I have now taught for 18 months at RMIT University in their Calligraphy Course. As the saying goes "To teach is the learn twice". I have learned a lot myself about the art of lettering and about how to share my creative skills with others. Calligraphy is in a new and expanding place in the world today. Traditional skills are being used in new and very exciting ways and by a new group of young and excited lettering nerds. The RMIT course has been updated a little to meet the desires of a whole new market. I am going to expand on that even more in my own "Studio8" in Hampton. Listen & look & news will come to you.
